Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (180g) whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/4 cup (60g) honey or maple syrup
- 1/4 cup (60ml) unsweetened applesauce
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk (any kind)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a muffin tin with paper liners. - Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. - Combine Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, mix honey (or maple syrup), applesauce, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir in the diced apples. - Combine Wet and Dry
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. - Fill Muffin Tin
Spoon the batter into the muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full. - Bake
Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. - Serve
Let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

- Add chopped walnuts or raisins for extra texture.
